Exploring The NORDIC REGION...
Data Page

Embracing five European nations and 24.7 million people, the Nordic Region covers an area slightly larger than Texas plus California. Economic measurements reveal that this region's inhabitants enjoy a high standard of living. So do measurements of the region's policies for human development. In 2007, for example, the World Economic Forum found that Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland topped other nations in "closing the gender gap" — guaranteeing that women have an equal chance to seek (a) economic success, (b) education, (c) political power, (d) health care.
