How to Access Study Units on This Site
Some
LE study units are accessible as PDFs, which you can obtain if you have
Adobe® Reader® in your computer. Click here
to download a free copy of the Reader®. Then print out letter-sized
copies of the PDF pages, exactly as they appear on your computer screen
— with maps, charts, and other graphics in place. (NOTE: You may
need to select "Print as Image" when the Reader's Printer Command
window opens.)
Other LE units are
made available as Web-site (HTML) documents. They're easy to access, too.
Let's suppose you want to explore LE's Web-site unit on Cyprus. As the
unit page titles on LE's Study Units page indicate,
the Web-site version of the Cyprus unit includes a Teacher Page, Student
Text Page, Map Page, and Data Page. Just click on the linked title of
any of those options; the page will open immediately, and you can print
a copy. The same is true for all other Web-site units, as well.
A word about Web-site
print-outs.... Everyone connected with this site worked hard to design
the high school student pages (the Map Page, for example) so that each
would end up as a single-sheet print-out. We knew this would help teachers
who make hundreds of copies of our student materials. But browsers, computer
systems, and even printers can override the formatting decisions made
by a site designer. We're sorry if such an override occurs in your case.
Perhaps you have print options on your browser screen that will help you
to adjust the font size.
LE grants permission
to educators to make machine copies of its on-line study units for use
within the classroom. (See Copyright and Disclaimer
page.)
